The Community of Acadiana uses coming together to support their local culture and artist part of their fundamentals. Repurposing this oil tank into a democratic space where local art can be displayed, observed, and appreciated provides a new and exciting way they can experience this. The ground floor of the tank is a large open space where anyone is welcome to hang up their art or perform on stage. Acknowledging the beauty of Louisiana's landscape is encouraged through the glass and polycarbonate exterior and the cypress wood structural interior. The second floor combines these two aspects with a display of Preservation Press’s canvas and 3D work which is created through the use of locally sourced plants. A communal lounge space was placed in between the second and third level that is occupied by a large netted hammock preserving the fond memories of many at the structures site. Level four is dedicated to the canvas and sculptural art of Colette Bernard, a current Pratt student and Acadiana native as a representation of the communities love and support for the achievements of the communal family.
