Developing a new age assisted living space for independent retirees who desire the comfort and security of aging in place. Change comes with getting older, from developing a new meaning of self care, to where and how you envision your surroundings. While developing the community of Guilded, an adequate level of researched based design and WELL’s guidelines were considered to ensure the processes of transitioning into the years of grace as peaceful as possible. As a communal living space, engaging in socializing alongside staying active and healthy is easy and enjoyable, but remains secure of the necessity of occasional solitude and independence. With the breathtaking landscape surrounding the site, it was a priority to ensure the beauty was carried into the design of the structures. Capturing the grandiosity of the mountains with the 18’ foot ceiling heights in the common areas of the housing structures topping them off with curtain walls to draw in the natural light. The transparency of the heart of the community encourages the residents to stay active year long without feeling trapped within your home. Mimicking the guild of supporting plants around the base of a tree to ensure its longevity and aiding it to flourish to its greatest potential, as we aim to do here for each individual resident.
